Summary:

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is the story of Lara Jean, who has never openly admitted her crushes, but instead wrote each boy a letter about how she felt, sealed it, and hid it in a box under her bed. But one day Lara Jean discovers that somehow her secret box of letters has been mailed, causing all her crushes from her past to confront her about the letters: her first kiss, the boy from summer camp, even her sister's ex-boyfriend, Josh. As she learns to deal with her past loves face to face, Lara Jean discovers that something good may come out of these letters after all.

Review:

Every now and again I want to read a contemporary novel that just makes me feel good and this was one of them. Lara Jean is so innocent and sweet and doesn't even realize how functional her little family (and extended family) is until it starts to break apart. Her sister moves to another country for college and her ex-boyfriend (also the boy next door that they grew up with) break up.   The dynamics of all of their relationships change and although sometimes things can go back to the way they were, often you need to adapt to the new changes.

So throw into the mix that Lara Jean has had a crush on her sister's boyfriend for YEARS and that he has mysteriously received a love letter written by Lara Jean, things start to get REALLY complicated.  Oh, and did I mention that another boy, Peter has also received an old love letter (mysteriously) and they decide to "fake date" but end up falling for one another?  I think that if you enjoyed  any of Stephanie Perkins books, you will also enjoy this title.  There is a little bit of language but not much.

  1. I read this last week, and quite enjoyed it. I had heard a lot of hype, so initially I was a little disappointed in it - I found the plot lacking, to be honest - but overall, it was a really sweet, fluffy, feel good book. And it made me bake peanut butter brownies, so that can't be a bad thing!
