In the spirit of the Twitter Friday Follow, the Book Blogger Hop is a place just for book bloggers and readers to connect and find new book-related blogs that we may be missing out on! This weekly BOOK PARTY is an awesome opportunity for book bloggers to connect with other book lovers, make new friends, support each other, and generally just share our love of books! It will also give blog readers a chance to find other book blogs that they may not know existed!
Each week, participating blogs are asked questions to post and answer on their websites.
This week’s question (and I'm so honored that they chose my question this week) –
This week's question comes from Christinabean who blogs at The Paperback Princesses.
"When you read a book that you just can't get into, do you stick it out and keep reading or move to your next title?"

This week's question comes from Christinabean who blogs at The Paperback Princesses.
"When you read a book that you just can't get into, do you stick it out and keep reading or move to your next title?"
We've chatted about this a bit on our blog already but I did want to talk about it. There are so many fantastic titles out there. I now have over 100 on my goodreads TBR pile so if you can't get into a book within the first 50 or so pages, move onto something else. You might be in the wrong mood or headspace, it could be the writing style or even the theme of the story that isn't hooking you but there is no need to spend time reading something you don't enjoy when you could be enjoying something else.
Please check out a couple of our "Just not that into you" books Prophecy of the sisters and Jatta. We still comment and review them though. Just because we didn't enjoy the book, doesn't mean you might not! :D
So welcome to The Paperback Princesses! Please take a look around and make yourself at home. If you check out the tabs at the top of the page, it will explain some of our memes, policies and contests we are following. Curlypow and Christinabean both work in libraries and love to read. We also love to chat about books. We are an award-free blog because although we appreciate the love, we prefer comments so please feel free to tell us what you like (and don't like) about what we're writing. Currently I have about 4 books on the go. Curlypow (I'm certain) has 5 or 6. What are you reading right now?
p.s.
Don't forget to check out other links in the the Blog Hop! That's where we find all of our favorite blogs!
p.p.s.
We are going to have a massive contest shortly where we are giving away SIGNED COPIES of a few books from the Smart Chicks Tour. Stay tuned! The post is on it's way!!
Hi! Found you through the hop! I see that we review the same genre of books.
ReplyDeleteI’m following you now. Hope to see more of your reviews!
My post is here: http://shusky20.blogspot.com/2010/10/book-blogger-hop-follow-friday-11.html
Ha! Just not that into you, I like that lol.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's true....So many books, so little time! Put down what you don't like and move on :)
Hop on by! :D
Blog Hopper here! I did it last week and fell in love with it! I remember once, I started to read a book and I just didn't like it. A couple of years later, I picked it up again (yes, I forgot I'd read part of it). This time my tastes had changed and I absolutely Loved the book from the start to finish. So you never know. If you can't get into it, put it aside for another time. I do.
ReplyDeleteFollowed you too!
I like how you said that you still review the book even though you didn't finish it because others may like it. I always try to include as many positives as I can and keep it why I personally didn't like the book, because it might be someone else's cup of tea!
ReplyDeleteHere's My Hop
Stopping by on the hop! You have a great blog here. Looking forward to reading your posts. New follower!
ReplyDeleteGreat question this week. I think it's good to review books even if you don't like it/can't finish it. It's important to always give an honest opinion.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I stop reading a book that I can't get into, but most of the time I power through, thinking, there has to be something good in here, I don't want to miss it!
Just stopping by from the Hop. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHopping by, and looking forward to read more of your posts. Following you now :-)
ReplyDeleteHopping by - Great Question! I have really been enjoying reading everyone's answers... they are more varied than I thought they would be!

I still review books I don't like much either, and I try to say *something* nice about them... unless they're wicked duds, and then nope. XD
ReplyDeleteI always give books a chance first, then put them down and try again, sometimes months or years later.
Stop by and check out my Blog Hop and Follow Friday HERE!
