Waiting on Wednesday - Time Bomb by Joelle Charbonneau

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine,  that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating or books that are in our TBR pile.  This week’s “can’t-wait-to-read” selection is

Summary (By Goodreads)

A congressman's daughter who has to be perfect. A star quarterback with a secret. A guy who's tired of being ignored. A clarinet player who's done trying to fit in. An orphaned rebel who wants to teach someone a lesson. A guy who wants people to see him, not his religion.

They couldn't be more different, but before the morning's over, they'll all be trapped in a school that's been rocked by a bombing. When they hear that someone inside is the bomber, they'll also be looking to one another for answers.

What makes me the most sad about this book is that this is something that we need to consider in this day and age.  With all the violence in the world now targeting young people, schools becoming hostage environments by people trying to gain media attention is a thing now.  Thank God it doesn't happen often but even my daughter's elementary school has a procedure for lockdowns in case of emergency.  I would be interested to read how this title plays out.

  2. As hard as it may be to digest this given the current situation our nation is in, it still sounds like a great read!

  3. I've only read one Joelle charbonneau book but I liked it. This looks good too. And the subject matter- so true. Sad that this is a thing our kids need to grow up with.
